My name is Simon Powel, and I run a very successful recording studio here in Toronto, Ontario. Eighteen months ago I was introduced to a young lady by the name of Kathy Winters by a friend of mine. His name is Patrick and he works as a mentor for www.recordingconnection.com. For six months she worked alongside Patrick and me, learning everything there is to know about the recording industry. She took everything on board and was very enthusiastic to learn. She went out of her way to be part of the team. He taught her everything from how to look after instruments to how to balance the books. There was a hell of a lot to take in but he explained it to her by physically showing her and having her repeat it to him and me. She picked it all up and after she completed her course I approached Patrick and Kathy and asked if she would be interested in working full time for me. She leapt at the chance, even though I explained it would be hard work and that I am quite demanding and expect 100% commitment from all my team. I knew inside though that she could more than handle it. She’s been working for me for six months now and we both couldn’t be happier. She’s my little ray of light with a good head on her shoulders.
